Project vision

Under the PhytoAPP project, it is expected to build and enhance an international and inter-sectoral cooperation network through joint research and innovation activities among project partners with multidisciplinary expertise and complementary competences in nanomaterials, physics, engineering, green chemistry, biochemistry, and medical science. This initiative will significantly strengthen collaboration between academic and non-academic sectors within MS/AC countries— Portugal, Ukraine, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom — and the third countries Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, in the field of innovative phytoproduct applications for health and well-being.
The main objectives of the PhytoAPP project are the design, development, and delivery of innovative water-soluble phytochemical inhibitors for the prevention of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
To achieve this goal, the PhytoAPP project will explore novel nanotechnological solutions to address the limitations of phytochemicals caused by their low water solubility. This will be done through the fullerene-enhanced, sustainable synthesis of water-soluble green phytocomplexes, enabled by cooperation between researchers and SME partners from the EU and partner countries.
Furthermore, the participating parties are committed to promoting innovation in this field in line with the provisions of the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, which seeks to strengthen the scientific and technological foundation of the Community’s industry and encourage it to “become more competitive at the international level.
