SLOVAKIA
Institute of experimental physics
The Institute of Experimental Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (IEP SAS) in Košice was established by the SAS Presidium on January 1st, 1969. The present research activities of the Institute cover basic research in several fields of modern physics (condensed matter, subnuclear physics, space physics and biophysics), as well as in selected fields of chemical sciences, biological sciences and nanotechnology. In the Department of Applied Magnetism and Nanomaterials, the research activities focus on development and characterization of new magnetic materials which can be potentially used in technical practice. Special attention is devoted to nanocomposites and nanoparticle systems with the building blocks in the range 1 – 100 nanometers. The Institute of Experimental Physics will be mainly responsible for the Work Packages 2 and 4.
